Chemistry, Oregon State University; Ph.D. Inorganic Chemistry, Northwestern University Brian Papke worked at Shell Oil for nearly 35 years until his retirement in 2015, working in the fields of lubrication science and tribology (a study of wear and friction). He is active in his church, serving as a Trustee and adult Sunday School teacher and song leader. He also leads worship services and a bible study at two retirement centers. He loves the Lord, loves science and loves to teach. His hobbies are wheel-thrown pottery, gardening, trumpet playing and studying the Word of God. He and his wife, Susan, have four grown children. His life verse is 2 Peter 3:18 "But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen"
