Financial Aid

There are various sources of financial aid to help you with your educational pursuits.  You can apply for aid for campus-based classes, 100% online studies, or a combination thereof.  If you need more information or are interested in applying for financial aid, click on the appropriate link below.

Federal financial aid comes in the forms of grantswork study, and/or loans. Eligibility can depend upon factors such as income, grade level, enrollment status, etc.

As directed by the U.S. Department of Education, federal funds are allotted to the lowest income families first, but funds are also available for middle and upper-income families.

How to Apply for Federal Aid

  • Complete a 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

    • The 2024-2025 FAFSA applies toward summer 2024, fall 2024, and spring 2025

    • If you are applying for a federal loan (subsidized/unsubsidized loan), complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN)  if you have not signed one for Luther Rice within the last ten years. You may visit StudentAid.gov to sign an MPN (login using the same FSA ID as your FAFSA).

    • If you are applying for a federal loan (subsidized/unsubsidized loan), complete loan Entrance Counseling if you do not already have an outstanding federal loan (from attending Luther Rice or any educational institution). You may visit StudentAid.gov to complete Entrance Counseling (login using the same FSA ID as your FAFSA).
