How rigorous are the Dual Enrollment courses?
Luther Rice Dual Enrollment courses are academically rigorous and meet the same standards as our undergraduate college courses. What is the application process for Georgia DE State funding?
Step 1: Complete the GAfutures Funding Application

Go to gafutures.org and create a student account.

Homeschool students: Your administrator must first register as an Education Professional.

Complete the dual enrollment funding application for your intended term. (A new application is required each semester.)
Step 2: Sign the Parent/Student Participation Agreement

After the application is submitted, your parent or guardian must electronically sign the Parent/Student Participation Agreement on GAfutures.

Step 3: Get Counselor Approval for Courses

What is the maximum amount of DE funding a student can receive?
Georgia Dual Enrollment funding covers up to 15 semester hours per term, with a total funding cap of 30 semester hours per academic year. This funding includes tuition, mandatory fees, and required textbooks for approved courses. Students can receive funding for up to three semesters or four quarters per academic year. Once the funding cap is reached, students may need to cover additional costs themselves or seek other funding options.

What are the age / grade requirments for DE enrollment?
Students in 11th or 12th grade are eligible to take approved Dual Enrollment courses.
10th graders may qualify if they have a qualifying SAT score of 1200 or an ACT score of 26.
9th graders are not eligible for Dual Enrollment.
Additionally, students must be under 22 years old on the first day of the college term to qualify for state funding.
