2020 Graduation Cancellation Announcement

March 23, 2020

Graduation Candidates 2020,

It is with a heavy heart that Luther Rice College and Seminary has made the difficult decision to cancel all May 2020 graduation ceremonies.  We must operate out of an abundance of caution and in accordance with recommendations from our state and federal governments concerning the evolving and uncertain COVID-19 situation.  We must be extremely cautious and consider the health and safety of all students, faculty, staff, visitors, and venue hosts.

While the ceremonies will not take place, our upmost priority at this time is to ensure that each of you complete all remaining requirements and that we graduate you on time in May (we will graduate students in absentia).  We are committed to this so that you are not delayed in starting new jobs or postgraduate study.  Our team will work diligently to ensure that you receive your diploma, regalia, and other graduation items in a timely manner after May 15, 2020.

Please be advised that Luther Rice is considering plans for 2020 graduates to celebrate the accomplishment at a later date.  While these plans have not been made at this time, we absolutely will share with you any details if they come available.

Continue to monitor your graduation status on your student portal MyCampus.  2020 graduation candidates still must complete all graduation requirements in order to receive their diploma.  Requirements include: financial aid exit interview, student account clearance, library clearance, academic clearance, exit Bible exam, student proficiency profile (BA graduates).  All final clearances will be processed the week of May 11th.

Rest assured that our entire Luther Rice Family rejoices today in your great accomplishment.  Lean in, press forward, and finish this final semester strong.  Soon you will be able to declare yourself a Luther Rice graduate!  We are so proud of you.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at

Serving Him,

Steven Steinhilber

Executive Vice President

Please read the 2020 GRADUATION INFORMATION PACKET prior to completing the online application.  Along with the Application for Graduation, the student must submit the appropriate graduation fee in order to graduate.

Masters: $215.00

Doctoral: $245.00

Late Application Fee: $100.00

Ordering Diploma, Cap & Gown

The graduation fee includes the cost of your diploma, cap, and gown.  The Graduation Application requires you to accurately provide your height and weight to ensure that your gown fits properly.  Your cap and gown will be available for pick-up from the Luther Rice campus several days prior to graduation day.  You will be given more specific times and dates as your graduation day approaches.  Students who choose not attend commencement will receive their diploma, cap, and gown in the mail within 3-to-4 weeks after commencement.

Graduation Status Tool

The “Graduation Management” link on MyCampus allows you to track your graduation application process.  The link displays which steps in the application process have been completed.  Access this link once you have finished completing your application. The link is located under the Academics menu tab (the same link used to apply for graduation).

Student Account / Financial Aid Information

The graduate must have a zero student account balance in order to receive student account clearance for graduation.  The graduate can log into their account on MyCampus to check their balance and make payments as necessary.  Graduation fees are non-refundable if for some reason you are unable to graduate.  Payments made immediately prior to graduation must be cash or credit card only.  Student account clearance is one of the final graduation clearances given by Luther Rice.  Therefore, students typically receive clearance the day they pick up their regalia.

If you received any student loans during your studies at Luther Rice, you must complete Exit Counseling in order to receive graduation clearance from the Financial Aid office.  Please visit to begin Exit Counseling.
