Marcus Merritt was raised in a Southern Baptist Church and accepted Christ at the age of ten. At the age of twenty-one, he accepted another call from the Lord; to serve Christ in vocational ministry.
Today, Marcus serves as the Director of Church-Minister Relations for the 3600 churches that make up the Georgia Baptist Convention.
Previously, he served as a missionary with both the Alabama Baptist Convention (ALSBOM) and the North American Mission Board (NAMB).
Marcus has also served as senior pastor of churches in Georgia and Alabama, and holds a Doctor of Ministry degree from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
Marcus and his wife, Michelle, have three children and six grandchildren.
